Canadian online and live tourney poker ace Griffin ‘Flush_Entity’ Benger (32) bested a field of 1,029 players this week to claim the honours and a main prize worth Euro 200,000 in the prestigious Irish Open tournament in Dublin, taking his career earnings north of $5 million.

Ant Wickert held the top chip count at the start of final table action, with Benger hotly in pursuit. The Canadian eventually took the lead and survived his remaining opponents to enter the heads up against Mihail “Moldovan Mike” Mazilu with a 2 to 1 chip lead; however it was not plain sailing for the Benger as Mazilu fought fiercely before finally being defeated in a close finish that could have gone either way.

Mazilu’s reward for an impressive showing against a tough opponent was a runner up prize of Euro 125,000.

The rest of the final table cashed as follows:

Chris Dowling Euro 75,000
Vamshi Vandanapu Euro 50,000
AntonyWickert Euro 35,000
Sameer Singh Euro 25,000
Fintan Hand Euro 19,445
Michael Conaty Euro 15,750
