The Montreal-based Playground Poker Club, an active venue in the live tournament sector, has agreed a partnership with online poker operator Party Poker that will see the club promote the Party Poker brand and host major live tourneys and satellites.
In return, Party Poker will provide the club with a digital presence through its internationally popular online and mobile channels.
Active promotions will take place over the next few months, initially with a $500,000 guaranteed Canadian Grand Prix tournament early in September, as part of the World Cup of Cards poker festival. Other joint promotions will follow, including the November-scheduled Playground Poker Tour featuring a PartyPoker WPT Montreal tournament.
Phil Sabbah, marketing director of Playground Poker Club, said in a statement that the multi-year partnership with Party Poker will give the club exposure in the online and mobile environment, and provide its players with the opportunity to compete in major online events.
