Pokerstars star initiative packs’em in.

Media reports from California suggest that the Pokerstars strategy of sending high profile poker aces to state cardrooms to spread the word that regulation is good for everybody is working.

The visits thus far have produced packed audiences keen to interact and discuss the issues with the star players or just plain take selfies and ask for autographs.

And facilities that enable Californians to email their political representatives urging legalisation have been thoroughly used.

Fans have pitched up in large numbers at the Palomar Card Club in San Diego; Lake Elsinore Casino and Seven Mile Casino in Chula Vista to meet and play with pros like Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, Liv Boeree and Jason Somerville.

Local media have seized the opportunity to carry print, television and radio interviews with the stars, giving the legalisation argument further coverage.

Meanwhile, traffic is ramping up on the new Californians4iPoker.com website supporting the push, explaining why equitable regulation is good for all parties including consumers in California, and facilitating positive contact with political representatives.

The poker aces’ tour continues this weekend, visiting the Napa Valley and American Canyon casinos.
