Woman Poker Player, a lifestyle publication targeted on the rapidly growing female poker player demographic, is launching a series of $1 000 freeroll tournaments in collaboration with Playtech-powered online poker room, Titan Poker.com.
Scheduled for November 25th, the tournament is open to all players who sign up and participate in the discussions on the Woman Poker Player.com forums.
Women currently represent more than 25 percent of players in online poker rooms, says the magazine – and the numbers of female players in live poker games is growing as a result. A women’s tournament at the Borgata recently attracted over 500 players and the WSOP 2005 ladies event had over 600 entries.
Woman Poker Player publisher Maryann Morrison says: “These freeroll tournaments will be a way to say thank you, along with offering an opportunity for some of our brick and mortar players to try their skills online.”
Woman Poker Player magazine’s editor in chief is poker legend, Barbara Enright. The magazine premiered in April 2005, and has more than doubled in circulation since its launch.
