World Poker Fund hires gambling law expert.

Respected US online gambling law expert Martin D. Owens Jr, has joined the World Poker Fund (WPF) Online and Interactive Gaming Committee as its chief advisor.

Owens has specialised in online and interactive gaming law since 1998 and is the co-author of Internet Gaming Law, an associate editor of Gaming Law Review and Economics, and is a contributing editor of The Sports Network.com, WPF said.

The company is focusing on the development of online poker and gaming in partnership with Native American Indian Tribes within sovereign rights under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

“This is a very exciting project. The players, the technology, the platforms are all coming together right here in California. It’s time to bring online poker up to its full potential, in the USA and all over the world,” Owens said in a press statement.
