Poker night with the mogules.

By RP, October 23, 2013

The poker and bluffing skills of Wall Street’s top financiers will be on display at 9pm Eastern time tonight (Wednesday Oct. 23) when Bloomberg Television screens the $50,000 buy-in “Poker Night on Wall Street” played at the Borgata in Atlantic City earlier this year.

Among the six top businessmen engaged in what promises to be some exciting poker are Greenlight Capital’s David Einhorn; Jim Chanos of Kynikos Associates; Gabelli Asset Management’s Mario Gabelli; Steve Kuhn from Pine River Capital Management; Ariel Investments’ John Rogers; and Skylar Capital Management’s Bill Perkins.

The event will be hosted by Trish Regan and the proceeds will go to charity.

These players have been successful in tournament poker as well as business in the past; for example Bill Perkins has poker career earnings to his credit in excess of $2.5 million – not bad for an amateur.

David Einhorn is another accomplished amateur who famously donated his $4.3 million in winnings from a third placing in the last One Drop tournament to charity, reprising a similar donation of $700,000 from a deep run in the 2006 WSOP Main Event (see previous reports).
