Good attendances and big prizes continue to attract poker players.

The main regular weekend tournaments continued to attract thousands of players this week, with Poker Stars again leading the pack.

The Sunday Million tourney at Poker Stars.com brought 6 628 players to the virtual tables, competing for a prize pool of $1 325 600 which put almost a thousand players “in the money.” That gave the final heads-up pair take home checks of over a $100 000 each following a fourway chop agreement that preceded the heads up.

A field of 1 237 players entered the Full Tilt $500 000 Guaranteed for December, generating a $618,500 prize pool from which 180 players benefitted. The first prize check was worth $117 515.

Ultimate Bet’s $200 000 Guaranteed generated a starter field of 957 players, vying for a first prize that was worth $45 000. 100 players cashed in thjis popular event.

Proving that the recent media reports that it has stabilised following its withdrawal from the U.S. market are true, Party Poker.com recorded 1 059 players for its $200 000 Guaranteed tournament. 150 players shared in a prize pool of $211 800, with the winner boosting his Christmas fund by a welcome $44 478.
