A Florida player looking forward to a little online poker action this week got a real charge out of the game when a nearby lightning strike sent a volt jolt through his machine.
Eddie Wilkerson was in the process of registering for an online poker tournament from his home PC, unaware that a major storm was building up in the area until a violent lightning strike on the house sent a surge of raw electricity through the computer and mouse and up his right arm.
The shocked player said he was aware of a flash followed by violent muscle contraction and tingling which left him feeling weak and listless. Paramedics were called and he was checked out before being driven to hospital for observation. He will require special muscular therapy to fully recover, but that spikey hair do that is so popular now comes naturally.
