Another long-running online poker promotion has been launched, put together by 888.com’s Pacific Poker.com and Poker News.com.

Titled “Poker For A Year” the twelve month-long online poker league offers over $150 000 in prizes and will culminate with a ten-player Final to be played offline at a secret location – all expenses paid. The winner will be crowned Poker Pro For A Year and will win the “Ultimate Poker Experience” – full sponsorship into four major poker tournaments in 2008.

This grand prize includes flights, accommodation, tournament entries and expenses, and is worth over $50 000.

The Poker Pro For A Year League starts on January 6 and is divided into six eight-week series that consist of seven $10+$1 buy-in tournaments, one $500 freeroll, and one Global Freeroll (requirements apply) where one skilled and fortunate player will win a package to a live poker tournament such as the EPT Dortmund, WPT Grand Prix de Paris, WSOP, EPT Baden, or Aussie Millions.

Each Global Freeroll package includes entry to the tournament, approximately $2 000 for expenses, and is valued at up to $15 000.

All Poker Pro For A Year League events will be held at Pacific Poker, and are only open to new players that download Pacific Poker through PokerNews.com/PokerProForAYear.com and register a new account, or have previously signed up to Pacific Poker through PokerNews.com. All players must also register at PokerProForAYear.com in order to participate.
